Between Maps and Meaning

Romans 15:13 is something that is speaking to me today. This verse talks about trusting in God so we can be overfilled with joy and peace. That we can overflow with these two things by the power of the Holy Spirit. There’s a quote in Avatar the Last Airbender “In the darkest times, hope is something you give yourself. That is the meaning of inner strength.” In my Christian life am I willing to surrender? Am I willing to in my darkest moments, look to the “God of Hope.” In this way I can see hope as a choice. Hope is the first step to obtaining God’s Peace. To having joy. We must hope, we must give ourselves hope when we see none. I pray to retrain my mind this year to always look to my God of Hope. Amen.
