Romans 8:18
“I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed to us.”
Sometimes we just need to give God space to speak. What a blessing it is to live in victory.
Too often, we get caught up in the troubles of the flesh. Our existence is a challenge, and there is really no sugarcoating that. Children die, people are abused, our lives can feel empty, and all sorts of things can weigh us down. How beautiful it is that, despite the worst we can imagine or the worst we can experience, what is to come is so immensely worth it that we can hardly put it into words.
I pray that regardless of all our trials this week, we are able to face the world with a smile because we know victory is coming. God’s purpose is being made clearer every day.
For those of you facing the worst the enemy has to throw at you, I want to leave you with something to think about. It is something that has been swirling in my mind.
There was a man who sat at his mother’s grave. He was old at the time, though she had died when he was 16. He sat there and recalled everything that had happened since then. He uttered a phrase that echoes in my mind:
“This is the beginning of my world.”
I cannot help but wonder if that would be my attitude. I imagine I would have thought, This is the end of my world. Either way, your world will never be the same again. I suppose the perspective of a beginning is better than the perspective of an end.
Genesis 50:20
“As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today.”
May we all have peace in our minds and a love for God in our hearts this week. Amen.
